koinonia medium publication

When I first started writing on Medium, I had many Christian posts that I wanted to add, and I came across the Koinonia medium publication, until I actually read what they wanted me to agree to in its writing application.

Do you Affirm the Apostles’ Creed? Text of the Apostles’ Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. *the whole or universal church – not any one denomination. Do you Affirm the Apostles’ Creed? *

I don’t agree that the holy catholic church is the whole or universal church. This is why I don’t write for the Koinonia medium publicatioin. I didn’t just want to agree to something because if I am in agreement to something then I am agreeing with that as truth.

If you are a Christian writer on Medium, be careful about what you are agreeing to. Koinonia might look like a Christian publication, but look at what they are asking you to agree with? The catholic church teaches its man made doctrines. It teaches that a human priest can forgive sin, and it teaches that daily mass can forgive sins. The Holy Bible speaks contrary to these man made traditions.

Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?Mark 2:7

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: Hebrews 10:11

A few things you need to know. The Holy Spirit actually comes to indwell the believer upon trust in Christ, who died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day. Salvation is nothing to do with human merit, giving up sins, or good behaviour. God saves us through his kindness, a trait called grace, when he gave His only begotten Son to become the final sin offering, so that we could receive the righteousness of God through Him.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him2 Corinthians 5:21

We have a sin nature that cannot inherit God’s Kingdom. Scripture is clear that all have sinned, and the wages of sin is death.

for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 6:23

Without Jesus Christ, no one could be saved, and yet many Christian denominations are submitting to their own form of righteousness, accepting Jesus and yet front loading the gospel with messages like you must turn from sins to be saved, or back loading the gospel by telling a believer that you have to live a certain way, and if you don’t you are not saved. These are accursed gospels that place a person under bondage. Sadly, the accursed gospel message is often the accepted one, and the rare gospel message of grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ is rarely taught, and rarely accepted by the masses.

The truth is in Christ. I know that I have eternal life right now because I believe Jesus when he said:

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God1 John 5:13

This article may be petty to some, but be careful what you are agreeing to with this Koinonia publication because the roman catholic church teaches sacraments on top of Christ’s finished work. It is contrary to the simplicity that is in Christ.

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him – 2 Corinthians 11:2-4
