I see it all the time when I’m walking, drivers who are taking their eyes off on the road and onto their mobile, when the car is not stationary. What is it going to take? DEATH of self or someone else? Put the phone down. That text or phone call can wait. If you have a bluetooth controlled car then great, answer the phone or make a call without taking your eyes off the road, but don’t use the handset at the wheel while you’re driving. It’s just not worth it. Please consider others. It is selfish behaviour.
Gadgets are great, but not at the expense of human lives. A car is a weapon too. Not enough is being done by the police to stop these idiot drivers who use their mobile phones at the wheel.
Sometimes I wish that I was a copper in disguise who could just arrest and prosecute these dangerous drivers. It is difficult enough for people to get their driving licence, and then for idiot dangerous drivers to break the law is foolish.
If you want to kill yourself using a mobile phone at the wheel – do it. Just don’t put innocent people at risk by your stupidity.
